India Updates Its List of at Risk Countries!
Recently after the outbreak of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529, many countries enforced a travel ban from certain countries. Passengers traveling from these countries have to take Covid 19 tests upon arrival. India has also prepared a list of countries that were classified as at risk countries. The variant was termed as VOC (Variant of Concern) by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The earlier list of at risk countries India
Earlier the list of at risk countries prepared by the government of India included Countries in Europe including The United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong and Israel.
DGCA Guidelines
According to the new guidelines issued by the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) India –
Passengers traveling from ‘at-risk countries’ shall undergo testing upon arrival and are subject to home quarantine if tested negative, in case of a positive test result strict isolation will be done.
Only those passengers will be allowed to board the flight who have filed the Self Declaration Form on the Air Suvidha portal and have also uploaded their negative RT-PCR test report. Also, only asymptomatic travelers will be allowed to board the flight.

Updated at risk countries for Omicron
In recent developments, the DGCA has removed Singapore from the list of ‘at risk’ countries and added Ghana and Tanzania to the list. Now passengers arriving from Singapore can leave the airport without undergoing the Covid 19 test at the airport on arrival.
