Hong Kong Cancels Air India Flights Till April 24
Air India has dropped flight administrations to Hong Kong because of COVID-19 limitations forced by the Hong Kong government authorities and restrictions the sector, the airline said in a statement.
Due to the restrictions imposed by Hong Kong authorities on air services of Air India since 3 passengers were found to be positive for Covid-19 in the Air India flight AI316 Delhi-Kolkata-Hong Kong flight on April sixteen. Air India has cancelled flights to and from Hong Kong on 19th and 24rd April as the airline tweeted on Sunday.
Travelers from India can show up in Hong Kong provided that they have a COVID-19 negative test report which must have been carried out 48 hours before the travel.
Earlier in January, this year, Hong Kong had introduced a two-week ban on incoming flights from 8 countries, which includes India, as the arena keeps witnessing a surge in the Omicron variation of COVID-19.
HKSAR Chief Executive Carrie Lam had introduced the flight suspension at a press conference.
She stated that the ban will have an effect on passengers from Australia, Britain, Canada, France, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, and the United States, together with moving passengers, as told by a leading news channel.
Lam in addition stated that the choice at the flight suspension was done due to a fast increase in the spread COVID-19 situation.
