PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Terminal-2 at Bengaluru Airport

In Bengaluru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly-designed terminal-2 at Bengaluru Airport. As a result of its extensive use of bamboo, the terminal is nicknamed ‘Terminal in a Garden‘.

There was an inauguration of Terminal 2 of the Kempegowda International Airport by the Prime Minister. A model of Terminal 2 was also shown to the Prime Minister during his interaction with airport authorities. As part of his visit to Kempegowda International Airport, the Prime Minister also visited the experience center and took a walkthrough of Terminal 2 of the airport. A short film about Terminal 2 was also shown to the Prime Minister during his visit.

Here is what the Prime Minister if India tweeted, “Terminal 2 of the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru will add capacity and further convenience. It is a part of our efforts aimed at providing top class infrastructure to our urban centres. The Terminal is beautiful and passenger friendly! Glad to have inaugurated it.”

A cost estimate of Rs 5,000 crore has been given for the construction of the eco-friendly terminal. According to PTI, KIA officials estimate 2.5 crore passengers will be accommodated annually at terminal-2 at Bengaluru Airport.

Terminal 2: Garden Architecture

It has been determined that the design and architecture of Terminal 2 has been influenced by four guiding principles: Terminal in a garden, sustainability, technology, and art & culture. It is through all these facets that T2 stands out as a terminal that is modern yet rooted in nature and that offers travelers a memorable ‘destination’ experience that will last for years to come.

‘The T2 is an architectural wonder, which is a first-of-its-kind ‘Terminal in a Garden’, which is a first of its kind. With its lush greenery inside as well as outside, it will be a visual treat that is unlike anything else on earth. “A KIA official told PTI that passengers will have the experience of walking through a garden while traveling through the new terminal.” In his opinion, the ‘hanging garden’ at terminal-2 at Bengaluru Airport will be one of the biggest draws of the facility.

As a result of this new addition, there will be an increase in USA to Bangalore flights, as well as other places.
