New Year, New Horizons To Explore But Is It Possible?
As we have already successfully stepped into this New Year 2022 with high hopes and big dreams, now we are all set to face new challenges to complete our new year resolutions. In this new year, we all want to go out and have funs. Despite the Omicron scare, people are all set and excited to step out and ready for new horizons to explore.
Omicron Scare
Due to rising cases of Omicron around the world, many countries have already shut down their borders and have put restrictions on international travel. Countries that have not banned international travel have implemented strict COVID 19 guidelines for international travelers.
If you are planning to travel to India from USA amidst this pandemic then be aware of the new Covid 19 guidelines of India. All international travelers now need to upload self-declaration on Delhi Airport’s Air Suvidha Portal.
Also the travelers need to upload a negative COVID 19 RT-PCR report which is not older than 72 hours.
The latest guidelines suggest that all international travelers coming to India must quarantine themselves at home for seven days. On the eighth day, there will be RT-PCR test and it is negative then they need to self-monitor their health for the next seven days.
In case of positive test results, then they will be shifted to an isolation facility and their samples will be sent for further investigations.
At Risk Countries
India has also created a list of ‘at risk’ countries that include –
- Countries in Europe, including UK
- South Africa
- Brazil
- Botswana
- China
- Mauritius
- New Zealand
- Zimbabwe
- Singapore
- Hong Kong
- Israel
- Congo
- Ethiopia
- Ghana
- Kazakhstan
- Kenya
- Nigeria
- Tunisia
- Zambia
Travelers arriving from these countries submit their samples upon arrival for RT-PCR test. They need to wait at the airport till the test results. These tests are chargeable and travelers have to pay the charges for RT-PCR tests.
Similarly, if you are making a ticket booking to USA from India, you need to follow certain protocols. Apart from the usual Air Suvidha declaration and negative RT-PCR test reports, travelers should stay prepared for the random test at the airport.
As India has started administering ‘precaution dose’ to its Health Care Workers, Front Line Workers and Senior Citizens, make sure you get that if you are eligible.
Covid 19 ‘Precaution Dose’ is basically a booster shot that has been named as ‘precaution dose’.
You can explore new horizons and visit new places, only if you are fit and healthy and do not have any Covid 19 symptoms.
