Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is one of the busiest airports in the United States. The civil-military airport is just 4 miles away from the DownTown Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City Airport is operated and managed by the Salt Lake City Department of Airports that works under Salt Lake City Corporation. The airport serves as the hub for Delta Air Lines. 

 

Being one of the busiest airports of USA, the airport records around 370 flights departing everyday to 99 destinations. The airport is currently undergoing a $4 billion redevelopment program. The first phase of this development program was opened from September 2020. The second phase of the program is expected to be completed in 2024.

 

Salt Lake city development program has been initiated to develop and manage an airport system for all the airports owned by Salt Lake City. The sysṭem will enhances the conveninabt, efficiency and safety of the passengers. Salt Lake City has an ambition to achieve excellence in customer service.

Airport Facilities:

The Salt Lake City Airport has the following services. The services are introduced to provide better services to the passengers.

 

Accessibility – 

SLC has made special arrangements of accessibility for the passengers who need extra help. Wheelchairs with attendants, restrooms for persons with special needs, restaurants, shops and elevators are designed to keep the special requirements in mind. To request wheelchair service call 801-744-4292. TSA Cares is a program to help travelers with disabilities through security checkpoints. Passengers can call TSA Cares at 1-855-787-2227. 

 

First Aid – 

At SLC, the arrangements have been made to provide First Aid. Airport police and paramedics are on 24-hour standby.

 

Airport Mailers –

There are certain items which a passenger can not carry on board, so the passengers can drop them in the Airport Mailer drop box. These drop boxes are located near the TSA security checkpoint.

 

ATM/Cash Machines –

SLC has ATMs and Cash Machines of all the major US banks. The ATMs are located in the Gateway Center, Level 1 of the Terminal, Concourse A and Concourse B.

 

Infant Care and Mother’s Rooms –

At Salt Lake City Airport, you can find Infant Care and Mother’s Rooms in most of the women’s restrooms. 

 

Diaper changing tables are available in most of the women’s and men’s restrooms.

 

Breastfeeding is allowed at all over the Salt Lake City Airport, where traveling public is allowed.

 

Service Animal and Pet Relief Area –

There is one animal relief station located outside of the airport on the west side of the terminal, and two animal relief stations within security designated to relieve animals. They are located in Concourse A near gate A9 and in Concourse B near gate B20.

 

Lost & Found – 

Salt Lake City has a dedicated Lost & Found area located on the third level of the terminal where the Administration office is located.

 

The Lost & Found office is open for business from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (MT), Monday – Friday.  

 

The Lost & Found office will be closed for all City observed Holidays.

 

Luggage Carts –

Luggage carts are available throughout the airport. These can be found in front of the terminal, parking area and near ATMs.

 

Wi-Fi –

Free wireless internet service is available throughout the airport.

 

Water Bottle Filling Stations –

The SLC also has water bottle filling stations at various locations. 

 

Smoking Areas –

Smoking at Salt Lake City is permitted only at designated areas, which is outside the terminal on the west.

 

Airport Hotel:

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel – DoubleTree by Hilton is located at the Salt Lake City Airport and is a great choice for frequent flyers.

Holiday Inn – Holiday Inn & Suites is located at Salt Lake City Airport West.

Hilton Garden Inn – The hotel is located five minutes away from the airport and can be accessed via free shuttle service.

Super 8 by Wyndham – Super 8 by Wyndham is located minutes away from the airport and can be accessed via free shuttle service.

 

Airport Lounge:

Salt Lake City has Sky Club by Delta Air Lines. The entrance to Sky Club is at the east of the Terminal Plaza.
